I'm still a little confused how tossing a generation of servicemen and women into a meat grinder with no clearly defined or supported reason why, as well as a complete lack of plan on getting out of the aforementioned meat grinder, leads to a "concern for 'teh troops.'"

Oh, I'm sorry, I notice that I don't have enough personal attacks on Republicans in my post.  Do I need to make those?  I could call Republicans 'fascists' if you'd like (as in people who would abandon the rule of law for mob rule), I could comment on how the GOP polarizes voters by appealing to the lowest common denominator, or I could comment on how the Republicans preach 'small government' out of one side of their mouths all the while seeking to legislate every aspect of personal and private behavior with which they don't agree (or rather with which the religious contingent of their party's base doesn't agree).  But, then, I don't actually believe that all of the Republicans can be painted with such a broad brushstroke.

...probably just those that call Democrats 'Bolsheviks' and claim that we don't care about people.

 Alright, so I was just about to leave a reply to that but I started feeling a good rant coming on.

 

So instead of disrespecting a fellow mindsayers blog by leaving any farther replies to this *??* individual on their blog, and instead decided to drag everything over here to my own house, so here's what I was about to leave over there:

 

Why you getting defensive Boo? I ain't said shit about your rights to have or express an opinion or about you being unpopular.

 

But to address your comment; Yep, you do have a right to express an opinion, no matter how asinine it might be or unpopular you are Boo.

 

However, contrary to what you seem believe Boo, that right is by no means a God given right that was Given to you by God himself...

 

In fact, all of that freedom of speech shit that oh so damned people love to fucking shout about has been given to you, and every other ass hole in this country who is of like opinion, not by God, but by members of my family who were willing to shed their blood so that any ass hole, not unlike yourself, no matter how fucking cowardly, with an opinion like that would have the right to voice it without having to worry that they were going to be hung by the government for opening your mouths.

 

Not that I calling you an ass hole or coward or anything like that Boo... 

 

So you see Boo, whether you want to admit it or not, which you obviously don't, that right to voice your opinions does come to you from military service, just not from your military service.  

 

That "I'm a citizen of this country" or "I'm a human being" is so fricking lame that I'd of been ashamed to have even tried to use that as an excuse for anything.

 

The unnecessary deaths here In the United States are just that, unnecessary.

 

Now as for the unnecessary deaths abroad of which you speak, those too are just that Boo, their fricking unnecessary...

 

Unless...

 

You're referring to the deaths of the men, and women of the United States military who are giving up their lives in Iraq on a daily basis...

 

And...

 

If you are, then you don't understand what you've got here because those deaths are absolutely necessary...

 

That is, they're deaths are necessary so that people like you, and all of those fucking Nazi loving faggots that rule San Francisco can enjoy your rights of freedom of speech. [Not that I'm inferring that you're a Nazi, a faggot, or that you live in Frisco.] 

 

Because without the brave men, and women our military being willing to die for your freedom of speech there wouldn't be an United States for you to voice your unfettered opinion in.
